Outlive Your Life: a new book I’m reading

I started reading a book today called Outlive Your Life, by Max Lucado, that I’d received at the Don Miller Storyline Seminar. I was crying by the second chapter.

To those of you who know me well, you know that is pretty easy thing to do, as my eyes are an indication of my heart being moved. But my heart was moved early in this book. I want to live a good life. I want my story to always be a part of the great storyline of God, and God’s story is always about saving people. Because God’s story is always about loving people. I want to help save people. I want to love people.

I want to be a part of the work of saving people from hunger, poor education, lies, beatings, child labor, slavery, injustice, poor drinking water, loneliness, emptiness, being stuck, being trapped, giving up, and more. When I read of others who are doing work to help save people I am moved. I want to share in it and I want to tell their story to the world.

So today, I encourage you to pick up Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado and be inspired. Then share with someone how you might Out Live Yours!

  1. Hi Cari,
I checked out your blog after seeing your prayer on Donald Miller’s blog. It was fun to see you grew up in Omaha! I am actually on staff with a college ministry in Lincoln. Your page is so intriguing and helpful, we share some similar visions. My blog is more a personal outlet for me rather than ministry right now. It is so encouraging to hear what you are about and how you are encouraging women. I really really hope to D Mill’s storyline conference in January. It killed me to not be able to go to this last one. It was wonderful to ‘meet you’ on here.
