Even after Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn – and I would heal them.”
Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him. John 12:37-41
Grace. Grace is needed to see, to believe, to understand, to receive. Grace is undeserved and it is freely given. There are those who do not want the grace I have to give. They want to earn understanding. They want to earn salvation. They’ve come to believe that they are the source of their own destiny.
Grace is undeserved. Grace is given, but is not forced. Some will choose to accept the grace that is offered and others will walk their own way.
Grace was offered in the very beginning. I gave grace in the garden. I gave life in the garden. I created a tree of life where man could eat freely and taste life itself.
But, the allure of knowledge, the allure of the ability to judge, the allure of becoming like me was too great and Adam and Eve chose judgment over grace.
You too have the same opportunity. You can choose grace or you can choose judgment. Your choice will determine how you view things. You may see signs and wonders and believe in me or you may see signs and wonders and make judgments to rationalize their existence. You were not created with the ability to judge and it is judgment itself that keeps you from loving and from receiving love. Choose grace over judgment. Choose life over darkness. Choose belief over unbelief and you will know the grace given in the tree of life.
I pray that you will choose grace.
I pray that you will choose life.
I pray that you Holy Spirit will show you any place where you are walking in judgment. I pray that you will confess this and turn and walk in a new way.
I pray that you will love freely as you walk in grace.
I pray that you will know love deeply as you walk in grace.
I pray that this love will give you the ability to love all people as Jesus has loved you.
Give something today that is underserved and with out expectation.
